What a sweet debut novel for this author. I recommend it highly to those of us who love Wolf shifters, Omegas, male pregnancy, family dynamics and drama, and fated mates. There certainly were some common first time author/proofreading mistakes, but they didn't detract from the story. Don't be mistaken, this is a slow build up story, but it has a bit of suspense and tension.I loved William right away. A young, naive, male Omega who has led the sheltered life of any rare, valuable commodity. Kept away from where any harm or damage could befall him. Waiting for the day he would be put on display to fetch the greatest "price" in money, in shifter community standing, and redemption of family reputation. I wanted so much more for him, but he seemed duty bound to follow the dictates of his family.
Harvey was the exact opposite of William. A wild child and adult. Searching for his purpose while William's is laid out for him. As an Alpha Harvey has a great deal more freedom than poor Will, who is kept sequestered from the influences of the outside world. But it didn't stop William from being a dreamer. Imagining a world he is unlikely to experience. While Harvey has had a few too many publicly known experiences, earning him an infamous reputation.
Through an accidental meeting, the two strike up a seemingly innocent cell phone friendship. At least it's innocent on the part of one of the parties. I was so tense waiting for Harvey to hurt William. For all of both their secrets to come tumbling out. The way William was treated, especially by his elders was appalling. All I wanted for him was a sweet HEA, but the road to it is rocky and pothole laden.
The end of this book is a preview to the second book in this series. It seems like it's going to be as interesting as its predecessor. I look forward to future works by this new author Rowan Lane. I definitely see myself rereading this book.

This is a new author and a debut book. So to firsts for this new series. If you're looking for excitement, and mystery this isn't the book for you. If you want new romance and second first chances (read the book to see what I mean), drama with a bit of a twist towards the end then this may be the book for you.
Overall, I give this a 3.5 it being a slow paced yet overall enjoyable first book. The plot was simple and a bit predictable to the point where I had already guessed who the alpha of the second book would be way before the end where the author tells you, but that may be from reading shifter romance so often😀.
The characters kind of grow on you but more so with each other which is good. That Quincey family and that Montgomery alpha were pieces of...work and never failed to bring out negative emotions while reading about them. There were moments were the grammar threw off the intended meaning of a few sentences. Also Will the omega kept stating he knew what he must do and what is expected of him because he is an omega but yet didn't seem to understand how he could be pregnant. I'm also not sure how one alpha could smell a pregnancy but the closet one couldn't but the author worked it out in the end. If I say anymore about the characters I will be giving away spoiler material.
The story wraps up nicely by the end but I want to know what else the 'note' in the epilogue said.
I admit that I am abit curious about the direction the second book will take since it will be an actor and detective, will it follow the same stalker plot or will it have twists, turns, mystery drama and then romance, can't wait to read. Till next time!

I loved William 's spirit and her optimism. Loved how much Harvey loved William .William 's mom was a crazy character
I really liked it. It's not Shakespeare, but it delivers what I wanted it to; a nice, sweet, alpha/omega love story. Good bedtime reading. Can't wait for the next installment even if the plot sounds like a predictable stalker trope. .

I really enjoyed this story, I am a big fan of Omega Mpreg. I thought the author did a good job world building, and with character development. I really liked how the Omega was brave dealing with all the obstacles coming at him without having a chip on his shoulder. If you like Mpreg, with romance and sweet Alpha you will enjoy this story.
